Jordanelle Reservoir
Description
This is one of our more popular state parks, in part because it is located close to Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front and also because it offers an array of recreation opportunities including camping, boating, swimming, fishing and hiking. Anglers fish for trout, bass and perch.
The park offers two recreation areas, Hailstone and Rock Cliff. Hailstone is a large developed campground and day-use area on the west side of the reservoir, and is a favorite location of boaters and RV campers. Boat launch ramps are found here.
The park offers an Event Center located near the park entrance. Perched on a hill with a spectacular sweeping view of the reservoir, it's the perfect venue for weddings, reunions and meetings.
Rock Cliff Recreation Area is located on the southeast side of the reservoir and offers a quieter experience. Nestled in the tall cottonwoods on the Upper Provo River, Rock Cliff offers camping, a nature center and a boardwalk. The campgrounds here are walk-in and dogs are not allowed.
